RD Calculator
Project recurring deposit maturity with monthly deposits and monthly compounding.
Fixed amount deposited every month.
Annual interest rate on the RD.
Length of the recurring deposit.
Assumes deposits at month-end with monthly compounding (ordinary annuity). Bank-specific quarterly-compounding RD formulas may differ slightly. Estimates only — not a guarantee of returns.
How does an RD differ from an FD?
An FD is a one-time lump sum; an RD lets you invest a fixed amount monthly. Both earn interest, but RD maturity depends on the deposit schedule and compounding convention.
Why month-end deposits?
This calculator uses the common ordinary-annuity convention (deposit at end of each month). Some banks credit interest on a different cycle; your maturity may vary slightly.
What if I miss a monthly deposit?
Missed deposits are not modeled. Banks may charge a penalty or adjust interest. Always confirm terms with your bank.
Is RD interest taxable?
Yes — RD interest is added to your income and taxed at your slab rate. TDS may apply if interest exceeds the threshold. This calculator shows gross maturity before tax.
Can tenure be in years?
Yes — select "Years" as the tenure unit and enter the number of years. The calculator converts to months internally.
