PDF Properties Inspector — Deep Document Analysis
Comprehensive PDF inspection: metadata, per-page dimensions, PDF version, encryption status and more.
PDF Properties Inspector is the most detailed inspection tool in the suite. Beyond the standard metadata that PDF Metadata Viewer shows, it also reports every page’s dimensions, the PDF specification version in use, and encryption / permission status.
All processing is 100% client-side. Your PDF is opened inside your browser tab, edited with pdf-lib (and rendered with pdf.js when needed), and saved as a Blob download. Nothing is ever uploaded to any server and closing the tab wipes every working buffer.
- Standard /Info metadata (title, author, dates, producer)
- Per-page dimensions and orientation report
- PDF version and structural summary
- Encryption status (open, protected, decrypted)
- Runs 100% inside your browser
- 1Upload the PDF.
- 2The tool reads every property and per-page dimension.
- 3Review the report and copy any field you need.
- For a quicker read of just standard metadata, use PDF Metadata Viewer
- For per-page byte breakdown, use PDF File Size Analyzer
- Mixed page-size documents show up in the per-page table — great for spotting errors
The inspector walks the PDF using pdf-lib and reports: standard /Info fields (Title, Author, etc), CreationDate and ModificationDate, page count, PDF version (e.g. 1.4, 1.7, 2.0), and for each page: width, height, orientation, rotation and crop box dimensions. If the document is encrypted, the encryption method (if pdf-lib can detect) is displayed too.
Mixed-size PDFs are a common cause of print bureau problems. A report that looks A4 on screen may secretly contain a Letter-sized appendix, causing bordered prints and rejections. The Properties Inspector lists every page’s exact dimensions so you can catch outliers before you send the file for printing or upload.
The inspector never modifies your file. It is purely a reporting tool. For actual edits, use the dedicated tools in the suite — for example, Resize PDF Pages to normalise mixed-size documents, or Remove PDF Metadata to strip identifying fields.
Your files never leave your browser. All parsing, page rendering and PDF assembly happens locally on your device using open-source libraries (pdf-lib and pdf.js). ilovedigital.in cannot see, store or share the contents of your documents.
